Of the more than 20,000 homes that were foreclosed over the past twelve months, three out of four failed to protect the homeowner from a loss of property without due process of law. Foreclosure is routinely granted to a party which has failed to show it has the right to foreclose.

California-based RealtyTrac reports Florida with the fourth highest in the nation. Foreclosure rates have increased 36 percent from March 2008. Increases in foreclosure lawsuits filed by lenders continue.

Meet Richard Kessler:

Richard F. Kessler has been a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association since 1968. He has spent more than 15 years practicing administrative law and is highly qualified to establish and administer a document service to assist the 12th Circuit District Courts. Mr. Kessler has also practiced real estate law since 1968 and has extensive experience in every facet of real estate especially homebuilding. Mr. Kessler worked as Vice President for land acquisition and development for a multinational homebuilder and owned and operated a real estate development company, a custom homebuilding company and invested in mortgages in Northern Virginia. Mr. Kessler was licensed as a real estate salesman and Class A General Contractor in Virginia. Years before the Green Movement reached its current vogue, Mr. Kessler under the sponsorship of Potomac Electric Power Company (“PEPCO”) designed and built two custom homes which were determined to be among the most energy efficient homes built in Virginia and, for the first time in Virginia, used geothermal heating and cooling in a custom home. Mr. Kessler is a graduate of the City College of New York and Yale Law School.
